A super fun and unique take on a beach engagement session. This shoot on Botany Beach in Edisto Island, South Carolina will give you tons of inspiration!
“The first thing they told me was “we want our engagement photos to look like we were at a fancy party and our jet crashed on Jurassic Island”, and they became instant friends. We decided the best way to realize their vision was at Edisto Beach in South Carolina, which is strewn with young palms, craggy old petrified trees, and shells of every color and size. It’s really a thrilling, natural, and romantic place, with wild irises growing on the sides of the roads, fields of wildflowers, and, of course, ancient trees on lapping lakeshores, festooned with Spanish moss. Just picture the two walking barefoot in the sand. Emily’s gorgeous Free People dress, loose, wavy hair flowing in the breeze and Devon’s “I just got out of work” suit and tie. The couple enjoyed tiptoeing among the palms and even out into the water as the moon rose overhead. A word of warning, though! Watch out for the plough mud! I never expected I’d end the day needing two burly men to heft me out of knee-deep quicksand-like mud (since I had never heard of plough mud!), but it was an amazing adventure. “
